1 TTT and 3 ITT is most unlikely, besides there's no CLM next to that stage.

Just noticed the arrival on the Champs Élysées would be at night (nocturne) !

A normal stage with start and finish in one town is impossible imo. Doesn't make any sense

Show me any Point A to Point B TT in the Tour de France in the last 15 years which had a significant loop and did not follow more or less a direct connection between the 2 points.

this year stage to peyragudes. The finish is I think 10 km from finish. Not a TT but a Tour stage.

Yes what's the fuss with that, only issue is that they can't get a second town to pick up the tab for the day...

This talk has no point. Is there a rule to prevent going on some different road other than the shortest one?

As it is never done, it is a bit unlikely that it is done next year. Or do you disagree?

Well those ITT are like 15-20% longer hen the shortest routes. Wouldn't call that significant.
If we hit that scale this year we end up with 2 pathetic 30-35km TTes

How about the last one? Is that not significant enough for you?

Fine then:

2006 Tour de France - Stage 19 ITT

Le Creusot - Montceau-les-Mines, 57 kms

lol, do you feel like an idiot now br

No, i am bavarian, i always feel superior to anyone lese, that's how we roll:D
Anyway i give this one to you. There have been exeptions to the general rule, ok. My mustake. Ok then there is hope that those two TTes will have decent length. However, as those towns rea closely together, i am in fear as long as i actually know the route.

Embrun-Chorges doesn't have that many alternative routes that don't make the stage too long or too difficult.

I think that it will be a long 50km TT first and more difficult, but much shorter second TT (30km or so)

The rumours for first ITT are for a loop south from Avranches to pass the locality of the Tour's voice, Daniel Mangeas. Or something. Makes it a stage of 55km approx. Second stage is indeed rumoured to be shorter but up and down. Of 30km I guess.

I do have some concerns that mountain stages may not end up being that great.

But at least it seems that there are 6 of them.

Pailheres-Bonascre

probably an "easy" second stage in the Pyrenees with Aspin as the last climb

Ventoux

2x Alpe d'Huez

2004-like stage to Le Grand-Bornand

Question is the last stage. Cret de Chatillon with 30km to go and not much else before would be my guess
