I immediately thought about this route: http://goo.gl/maps/YzYTroundabout said:The idea of a stage finish in Annecy. I thought Le Semnoz would be more likely, but ok, that rumored route has enough MTFs.
Assuming a finish in Annecy, what puzzles me are the possible variants of connecting Granier, Revard and Cret de Chatillon.
Less flat between climbs, but "easier" ascents or more flat between climbs and harder climbs.
I don't think the south side Cret de Chatillon is that difficult , but it's closer to Annecy. I think the west side is good enough, but it's further away from Mont Revard and further from the finish.
If it's a transitional mountain stage, then it's ok. But I dunno.

I wouldn't call 1m of the old road remaining big enough.18-Valve. (pithy) said:We're talking about 2013, though. The railroad won't be a problem when it's finished. The [Puy de Dome] road will be smaller than before, but still big enough for the Tour.
Because they finished there last year.airstream said:Why would it be better than PdB?

Where you have this ascent of Mont Revard: http://www.climbbybike.com/fr/profil.asp?Climbprofile=Mont-Revard&MountainID=6986
And this of Cret Chatillon:

With the finish in Annecy immediately after the descent.
