greenedge said:Is that not what stage 2 will be??? I can't really imagine Sky pulling for Cav up there if Wiggins has to respond to an attack.
A complaint for me at the TDF is why they never have any stages around Paris in the North. They are always near thee mountain ranges which is fine but if they started somewhere then headed through France to the mountains it would be better, instead of skirting along the borders.

greenedge said:What about JROD. I could envisage if he starts the TDF, him just getting Katusha to drill it, then he goes up the mountain with Cadel, Contador, Shlecks and all the rest, then nobody would chase ( as the peleton coast in conserving energy ).
Thx for the reply about the velodrome LS.
You mean the bit about the Alpe d'Huez, twice? Yeah, that would be truly horrible. Thousands of Dutch cycling "fans" who think that Alberto Contador is the singer in a mariachi band, who will be too drunk to even step to the side of the road the second time the riders pass them.roundabout said:This is OT from the last few posts but the recent bit of news on the front page about 2013 is seriously ****.
I am hopeful that it's all hot air and never was nor ever will be seriously considered

Ryo Hazuki said:how is that nuts?? simply a stage with 2 hc mountains (for tour proportions)
sublimit said:maybe for GC riders its OK but every other rider will pull out long before.
Ryo Hazuki said:uhh no. there are many tour stages we've seen with multiple hc climbs in it and no the riders don't pull out. it's the tour and it's only 2hc climbs.![]()

Siriuscat said:Variation on a theme really but what about Bourg D'Oisans - Croix De Fer - Telegraph - Galibier - Col de Sarrene - DOWN Alpe d'Huez (just to annoy the hell out of Frandy) - Les Deux Alpe MTF.
Down Aple D'Huez seems heresy but it might be interesting. Twice on the Alpe would be pointless, there are other mountains.....
Maybe Mente, maybe Portillon.
It' still doesn't change the fact that it's one of the weirdest Tour stages that I can remember as it's less than 20km from Luchon to Peyragudes.
Wonder if we will get a 180km stage from Bourg-d'Oisans to Alpe d'Huez or 200km stage from Bareges to Tourmalet in the future.
