Hopefully Nairo can somehow pull the gap to Froome below 2 minutes before alpe d'huez to at least give us some excitement on the final GC day

Very nice win by Cummings.

Quintana looking good, hopefully another crazy Quinatan third week will be coming up, but I don't think it will be enough to dethrone Froomey, but I'm looking forward to the Alpes. :)

Also, that final sprint by Froome.... a bit classless if you ask me.....

Erm it's a race? Every second counts. Get with it.

Great win for Cummings, he came from a long way back and timed it perfectly.

TJ van Garderen is simply not good enough, a very good rider but not tour winning quality. If he tries for the Giro or the Vuelta he might sneak a win there but definitely not at the tour.

he'll die in the hand of Aru/Landa on the Giro/Vuelta! He is lucky with ITT and TTT. But his inability to attack makes him vulnerable. I really want to see all the "real contender" sit on top 5 (npt the wanna be). Move away TJ. Make room for Richie :D

I agree, Quintana will own the Alps but the gap is too big to win the tour unless something bizarre happens or Froome gets seriously isolated. I think this will be a repeat of the 2013 our, Froome is apparently targeting Alpe D'Huez for the stage win but i'd be surprised if Quintana doesn't have his measure by then....

PS I'm a Froome fan so deft not being biased!!!

I laughed so hard at Cummings winning. That was awesome. Contador slowly improving, but now quite there yet, will be competitive in the Alps, but not dominant. I liked how Froome wasn't entirely invincible. Gives me hope for Quintana this year and Contador next year. I also liked Thomas showing weakness

I would be furious if I was Nairo. Being wheel sucked all the way and then being jumped by Froome for a second :(

I wouldn't call what Froome did wheelsucking. He was just marking him and took his chance to take more time - that's the advantage you get from being in such a strong position in the GC.

Wheelsucking is when it is mutually beneficial for both riders to work together, but one doesn't and then tries to sneak a win. Quintana is Froome's only realistic rival so there was no benefit to him in working together and risking blowing up or losing some time.

Quintana will cause Froome problems in the Alps, enough to win I don't know but he is looking good to get some time back and he looks to be getting stronger as he race continues. Froome will need to be at his best for all of the Alps otherwise he will lose this tour.

Of course he will but then again Nairo is also going to have to find something else as everything he has thrown at Froome has come firing back at him. Froome will be happier in the Alps than on the kind of climb we have just seen by the way.

Cummings is a true professional. Tackled the climb perfectly. Understood that the two French riders were more concerned about losing to the other than winning the stage. Plus, he said in his interview that he knew Pinot is not the greatest descender. Played it perfectly. Well done.

What a fantastic win for Cummings and Qhubeka. Hilarious headshake/facepalm combo by Pinot/Bardet as they crossed the line.

Froome can be blamed for many things.... but not for taking advantage in a CG battle. You guys may didn´t see Merckx, Hinault & Co, but that´s racing, not a after-work ride between some buddies having had some beers before...

Yes could get interesting

agreed. Did you see in some point.. froome was chasing quintana .. he was standing... swaying his bike was violently left and right. Looks like Quintana hype lives up. Alps will be interesting. Dunno if he can take back time, but at least we'll see the fight. And I think Contador is done, from the look of it. He hang dearly on the thin hair now.

That has made Cummings' career, he won't get a chance again, the other two will win many races, but Cummings takes the one chance he has, great story

Perhaps but I still think it is a bit rubbish to sit in someones draft for the last 1.5km and then jump from behind to gain a second.

An unforgettable, ignominious sprint attack for one second by Richard Froome after not working with Nairo to the line. Utterly classless. What a jerk.

>>>If Froome has a mechanical in Yellow, Nairo now has license to attack.
