Greipel f*cked that up once again, even though he has the best train.
If I were Lotto-Soudal, I would stop wasting De Gendt et al.'s energy.

People saying kittel doesn't deserve green. He is by far the best sprinter in the world, and in my personal opinion, i don't even think sagan could beat him for the green jersey this year. Of course he derseves it, if ends up with it.

Dege finding some form. Maybe Rodez could be something for him with Sagan out of the race? He already climbed quite well on the way to Station des Rousses.

Why any team but Quick Step would work, I could never understand.

All the sprinters teams should just put a guy in the break.

This is happening for years now and I wonder if anyone understands it anymore. Actually what you are saying is something you hear less and less over the years. All teams beside quickstep should try and join the break instead, let quickstep try and close the gap. I guess they all think they have a bigget chance winning in a sprint.....

We'll never know though, will we..

Sagan was on great form, he would certainly contend for green.

He fell asleep as did most people.

Often..like quite recently, the fastest sprinter in the race doesn't win Green in Paris.

Agree, if he wins it he deserves it."..considering the reduced field ;)

Kittel is a high-speed sprinter that continues the legacy of Petacchi and Cipollini. I don't see where the best sprinter of the world wouldn't be a worthy winner of the green jersey, just because Sagan turned it into the Intergiro classification of the Tour. It should be won by the fastest sprinter anyway.
Well, neither Cipo nor Petacchi won the green jersey, so only natural that Kittel shouldn't either.

Petacchi won in 2010

It's difficult to win green jersey when rider never finishes the Tour. As was the case with Cipo.

The chances of Kittel screwing up, getting boxed in, having a mechanical, feeling slightly ill are better than the chances of a particular sprint team winning from a breakaway on a sprint stage. They are playing the odds.

Yes, when Kittel crashes, they have one of about 10 sprinters who could feasibly win.

They are playing the odds.

The wrong odds.

I mean seriously, if you sent riders in the break, your sprinter can still sprint. It can't possibly be detrimental to your chances

Re: Tour de France 2017 stage 10: Périgueu > Bergerac - 178

Stupid UCI and ASO pay their price. The fight for green would be amazing. Sagan forced to be in each break.
I start to think Sagan is pretty happy now , he could be beaten fair and squere.

It's time to move on, I think.
