Wildcard teams have been repaying the ASO for their selection to the Tour by getting in almost all of the breaks that stick, it would be nice to see one of them finish a stage off by stealing a win.

I know it won't happen in this stage, but they could in some others.

IMO, Mark Cavendish has quite the world class Palmares....Kittel, hmmmm, not so much.
Good luck to him though....with such a reduced field, he should take his chances, but if takes the "Green" we're gonna have to put a wee asterisk next to it

Kittel is a high-speed sprinter that continues the legacy of Petacchi and Cipollini. I don't see where the best sprinter of the world wouldn't be a worthy winner of the green jersey, just because Sagan turned it into the Intergiro classification of the Tour. It should be won by the fastest sprinter anyway.

I think if someone bosses nearly every sprint, yeah, they can keep the green.

In any case I think it's between Kittel and Matthews, unless something else crazy happens. So Colbrelli and EBH were mainly testing their legs, and sure, picking up some points just in case.

To be honest I didn't think Kittel would make a proper go at the intermediates until Thursday at the earliest.

Especially since Colbrelli is absent in every finale while sprinting for 5 points at the intermediate.
