Happy to see the Landa-hype from the Giro is back. And happy for Landa there are no fast-men here to out-sprint him. Will probably win tomorrow and take yellow with a gap of 6-7 min.

Stage finish being so far from the top of the last climb doesn't help but early attacks should see some good racing. Contador will definitely attack and Bardet will probably try something. They will test Froome out early you would think after what happened yesterday.

Aru/Bardet etc sense weakness in Froome and go mental early, Landa goes with them and doesn't have to work. Froome relies on his team to bring the break back but they fail miserably giving two-three minutes to the strong break. Landa, having rested while Astana and AG2R waste their doms and their leaders also do pulls at the front goes on the last climb and solos the last 30km putting two minutes into Aru and Bardet and three minutes into Froome.

Cue the Dumoulin/Landa battles for the next five years.
I don't think they'll try anything early. They have the perfect ramp where they have been successful in this Tour. That is the 3 km steep portion of the Mur the Peguere. That is even perfect if a few go together. It would be interesting if they have someone ahead of them to help.

Agree. And besides that perfect ramp, Aru, Bardet and Uran all have too much to lose at the moment to try an attack from 50 kms out. A podium does mean something....it isn't all about yellow. None of these guys is going to do something crazy just for our entertainment, only to fall out of the top 5 on GC.

Contador and Quintana though, they pretty much have nothing to lose. They don't appear to have the legs, but it is a short stage. I hope to see them (or at least Alberto) in the break.

And if Landa is with him then he might gain back his seven lost minutes :D

Kwiatkowski will save Froome's bacon tomorrow.
As it has already been said. Kwiatkowski is the strongest rider in the race. He's been unreal.
Huh!
Maybe best team helper but of the race, come on!!

If we would take into considerations not only uphill but driving on flat and downhill as well he might be the strongest right now. Obviously he is not the best climber.

Depends on how you define best rider, but even if he was the sky captain instead of Froome, he wouldn't have won the Tour, for me also not top10.

Whatever about the Landa hype, expecting him to go in the break is ridiculous. He is Sky's best climbing dom. He will be told to climb with Froome, and help him chase on the final run-in if required.

Kinda hard to be on this forum because of Landa hype

Nothing wrong with the bloke and he is a great climber but the hype is ridiculous
1. he has been given chances at Sky....he didn't deliver
2. He couldn't even beat TJvG in a stage at the Giro....
3.He hasn't ridden for Froome this Tour except yesterday and has ridden the train but yet is minutes down
4. His TT is not good
5. All the same people who knock a rider like Porte or say Dan Martin is not a climber think Landa is going to win everything ? Makes no sense

Maybe save the hype till he has delivered folk

Some of us like living in the real world

No team is strong enough to shed Sky of Froome's helpers. Rather doubtful Sky will control the race from the outset with intentions of winning the stage. Should be one for the break but the short length of the stage suggests the gap won't get very big back to the peleton.

Form to win both barring bad luck/team goals? He has certainly been very relevant in both races. With no Thomas now, he will be important for Froome in the remaining mounatin stages, he's in Porte's old role .
