Key for Astana and Ag2r will be to not let Kwitakowski (or maybe Kiryienka) get minutes if a break gets away before the first climb, which I doubt it will.
Tailwind from the last climb to the finish, so should be green light for going all in on the last climb.

If there was 6 man sprint in Chambery there is no reason to think that much softer stage will bring gaps between top 4. Press articles are trying to make hype. In reality there should not be any hype.

There is also question about stages with decents in general. In recent TDFs they did not bring much of gaps. There has been 4-5 climb stages and last climb 10-12km to finish. And gaps were small still. In TDF should have 5 MTFs and 1-2 stages with decents.

Don't think I have ever seen Dan Martin this strong in a Grand Tour. Sure, he looked to be on the limit yesterday, but still managed to get 6th place, which is quite good considering how bruised up he is after the crashes on stage 9. Really impressed so far, just hope he can endure the stage today and then try to go on the attack and gain time in the Alps.

Don't think Sky will send Landa in a breakaway. He will be crucial for Froome on Mur de Peguere, especially on the final steep section. But Sky will probably try to get som guys in the break, maybe Henao, Nieve and/or Kwiatkowski. If Froome drops on Peguere he would surely like to have someone like Kwiato to help him the last 25k.

Kwiatkowski and Landa in the breakaway would be perfect for Sky, but of course they will not send them. Whole team would rest then, it would be up to Astana and AG2R to chase. Froome would need to watch Aru, Bardet and Uran and he would have Nieve and Henao to help him out on the last climb if needed, and Kwiatkowski on the descent and flat part.

This is a stage that makes one wish one had become a bookmaker, the number of scenarios and possible winners
is infinite.Hopefully it will be like Formigal but with a different ending. On a more serious note recent events have highlighted the need for cycling to adapt to a changing society. The UCI needs to set down a set of rules which are completely unambiguous. For instance it doesn't take a genius to imagine the consequeces if Aru had the the temerity to attack whilst Le Blaireau was having a technical.Memories of this stage in 2012 should give everyone pause for thought. If younger riders are prepared to push the envelope to the limit how long will it be be before some deranged fan depoits tacks on the road on the time trial.Speaking as someone who has had an explosive blow-out at high speed it is not something one wants to go through a second time.Heres hoping for a safe and exciting stage.

Any real reason for Sky to do anything different to normal? With only a 6-second deficit, a timetrial to come and a majorly-weakened Astana, there's no reason for Sky to do anything interesting. They'll just keep tempo'ing the race to death. Froome isn't particularly strong but it hardly matters.

They have to send Kwiatkowski, he is the perfect rider to help after Peguere. I don't think they'll send Landa, as they don't trust him. Also he should be a big help for Froome on Mur de Peguere.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

Cummings on the short back-up? He looked ok yesterday.

Usually this stage would be a stage GVA could do well in, however he is probably one of the favourites for tomorrows stage.

Buchman or McCarthy would be good options to get in the break for Bora.

Plenty of French riders should be keen to get a big win on Bastille Day obviously. Pinot maybe?

And Astana is riding for Sky, Aru already has another arm in Sky-jersey for the future, he is happy dreamer for runner up spot. They just need to get rid of Bardet and Uran (who can tt well enought to bring some cold sweat for both Aru and Froome). Let's just see how Fuglsang works his a off for Sky today

He is, and I don't think he would have any chance, whatsoever, on today's stage even if he tried. The climbs are so tough, that Greg would have to get in a very weak break consisting of only rouleurs or puncheurs like himself, and this break would need a big advantage not to be caught by the favourites.

I hope Buchmann does something. Stage is too tough for McCarthy if you ask me.
