Am I the only one to be severely bothered by Stephen Cummings' attitude?

I know he has won a couple of stages the past years but it's ridiculous to see him just sitting at the back of the field every single day, not lifting a finger for anyone, with the faint hope that he may be able to sneak into a break on a day suiting his characteristics. And today is most certainly one of those days, yet he just sits tagging along once again at the backmost position, not even bothering to try to look like one who cares about anything.
Breakaway has a greater chance to work in the last week especially when riders are tired & He just went in the break 3 days ago. perhaps he has not recovered

No I'm the same but the British media seem to think 'oh it's Steve'

You can back the winner without Froome below which might well be the same thing if you are expecting Froome to win!

Good link, thanks - Not sure I fully understand what they mean by 'without Froome', is that explained anywhere?

It means you are betting on the highest placed finisher not named Chris Froome. They often have these markets when there is a very heavy favourite.

Spot on with your post. It's rare for him to help a team-mate.

He doesn't work and picks his stages well in advance but you have got say he has been very successful for a 36 year old..

If he were working he may not have energy to go for stages....presume team are very happy with this

Cummings has proven that he is able to finish it off when he is in the break. Today he should've been in the break imo though.

He is allowed to chill at the back, aslong as he delivers. I mean if Sky didn't control the long pyrenees stage for some weird reason he would've won the stage.

Yeah, but the truth is that he will not beat the likes of Barguil in the Alps, so today was his best shot in the remainder of the Tour by far. And he doesn't even try... It's quite baffling.
