Here's where Valverde/quintana attacked and put froome in a bit of bother, we ended up seeing the birth of froomes silly descending style on the downhill

Kittel still in the peloton (according the tracker)? What is this? Sunday lunch ride or what!
He dropped on the early slopes alongside Burghardt and Degenkolb.

Matthews going is bad news for Barguil.
De Gendt can gain another 50 points on Barguil on this stage.
That would leave him just 29 points behind.

I doubt he will last until the top of the Galibier but even if he does I'm sure Barguil gets his chance tomorrow

Sporza reporting that Kittel might abandon due to a shoulder injury. He is hanging on at the moment but it doesn't look good.
It would be tough for him to make the time limit coming from that far back, now add in injury?

Contador on a long range attack in the Alps, he must be terrified of Sammy Sanchez and Rolland catching him at the end.

2011 on the Alpe!!! That was a great stage to watch
Bit of an anticlimax though.

Andy Frank and Cadel held hands all the way up the Alpe.
Cadel I undersrtand why but Andy and Frank were idiots and lost the tour.

Maybe if Cadel hadn't punctured after Contador dropped him the 4 would have stayed away it could have been a GOAT stage

The tracker doesn't show the attardés. Would be interesting to see if some of the dropped doms would be able to return.
I doubt it. He was dropped extremely early on the CdF
You mean the grupetto? Ofcourse he is not in the first peloton :D

Thought so. The official tracker must be wrong then.
Do we have any timings of him?

He can just hold onto the cars like he did earlier ;)

If he is not going to make TL, he will climb off.

Aru content with second place?

Or will he attack up the next climb?
Seriously, were you expect him to attack in Croix the Fer?

Come on, that's the place for all riders that out of it.

I don't think Croix de Fer was too early. Contador was always going there, and if the peloton is split up and the first peloton riders join up with the breakaway the peloton isn't coming back. Landa could've joined Contador, Sky could've not used Kiri, and they'd have been in an insanely good position.

But alas, Sky gonna Sky.

Nothing beats an exciting day in the Alps. When there's nothing but long, grinding climbs and valleys it's perfect for long range attacks. And of course when the riders are surrounded by high mountains it's visually stunning.

Happy to see kittel out of the time limit because sprints will be less boring but I don't like to see a guy injured.

Today is the Rigo day. The man who will have the strength to attack at the end of Galibier.

Halfway, yes.

You think he's got any better of a chance taking 30 seconds out of Froome on the final climb or maybe he just waits until the final climb tomorrow to take 30 seconds, which you know is nowhere near enough.

That's why I ask if he's content with second, because he's in a lose, lose either way.
