battle of the underdogs:
Mr. Invisible Meintjes gains 1:30 on the white jersey .... guess 2:28 should be enough for Yates though ....

A conceit by Contador today ....Molloma could have won that stage ...but I guess we have to have a 'great' show
I think the same. Mollema was surely the stronger card to play once he had made it into the break, but had to waste himself for a move that had very little chance of working.

without the work Molloma did the breakaway wouldn't have gotten the time needed for one of them to win

Bardet losing time to Uran and Froome. Sad.

He lost the race in stage 15.
No. Froome is stronger, have to accept it.

Of course but he is not invincibile ad he was. Stage 15 was the only chance to try something.
Now it's over and tomorrow he'll go for the stage.
Purely by winning the stage tomorrow, Bardet would reduce his deficit on Froome by at least 4 seconds. And with all the mechanicals Froome's had in this Tour, the TT can't be a foregone conclusion...

What a disastrous race this is. Kittel, Valverde, Sagan, Demare, Majka, Gilbert, Cavendish, Izagirre, Porte, Gesink, Pinot and Thomas all crashing out or DQs. Contador, Quintana and Chaves all physically in pieces.

So we're left with a bunch of crap sprinters and a load of 2nd tier GC riders who seem content to battle amongst themselves for 2nd place. All of this taking place on a terrible route.

This is right down there with the 2012 edition.
