Do Ag2r realise that having riders who can't win the stage in the break and are too far ahead of the peloton to be helpful is a complete waste of time?

I think all the riders on GC are happy with where they are at the minute. Bardet has at least sent his team to the front in a bid to try something but realistically there is no chance he will get 30 seconds on Froome lat alone the 90 secs that he needs to stand a chance of winning the tour. Aru has ridden the entire tour without a support team and today is no different.

I think the main problem is they know Froome and Sky are too strong to surprise from far. And they know Froome has the better ITT anyway. And they also know between themselves (Bardet/Aru/Uran) none of them is an excellent TT-ist (or in Uran's case 'anymore'). So they are indeed happy where they are

Heard an interview with Uran today, he says he wants to try and win the tour today, so we will see

Sky have been handing out Mussettes a lot on the climbs

Tis the new marginal gain.

To be fair though I guess sending a guy back to load up on bottles and then race back to the front does wear them out more than needed ... so yea why not just hand as many as they can out in bags? :D

One guy just handing out bottles can't give away as much as a musette of bottles.

Riders have to say this. Whether they mean it or not we can judge them by their actions.
