Looks like Froomedawg will join this illustrious list unless he wins the TT later in the week, with the break at 8 minutes.

Interesting that this list only contains some of the lesser TDF winners (and yes, I saw Greg LeMond! He is one of them, IMO). I wouldn't mind seeing Froome in there.

Greg won 2 other Tours, the Worlds twice and you call him lesser? He would have won the Tour 5 times if he hadn't been shot :(

Lemond is in my top 5 GC riders since WW2.
I don't like speaking hypothetically, but without the accident he would have won 5 Tours, imo.

Coppi
Anquetil
Eddy
Hinault
Indurain
Armstrong
Contador

Which of these do you not have?

Completely agree. Exactly what I wrote:

And this is shaping into an Alpine classic.

Attack at Col de Vars?
Action in the breakaway, certainly.
And the GC helpers at the front will make sense only if someone tries something there (Vars).
But the GC might come down to Izoard, nevertheless.
The stage is still in the reach of the Yellow jersey group.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Try telling someone in August 2010 that Contador and Andy will retire with 3 tours between them.

There's plenty of cycling fans who only know LeMond for his long-running feud with LA and his recent media goofiness.

Top to bottom:

Anquetil
Coppi
Lemond
Armstrong
Indurain
Bartalli
Contador
(My provisional list, just an opinion. Point is that Lemond is not a lesser GC rider)

Don't forget Bertie won the 2015 Giro without a stage win. Did that make it any less of a GT win?

I don't know why people would complain about Bora. It's adding to the excitement not detracting, it keeps the speed up in the front and behind and makes sure everyone is racing. It's good.

we want to see brice feillu in yellow ;) no serioulsy, it's just annoying when they don't have a single chance to win the stage anyway, and are riding for a fifteenth place, when they rather just could send some riders up the road and go for the stage tomorrow where they have a chance.

They did try today but missed it. They then waited and hoped I guess Sky would contain it, when it became clear they wouldn't they are riding. This whole complaining about teams has gone too far to the point where you guys are now criticising the teams for making the rice more exciting, not less exciting. Who cares if it's 52 riders in the break instead of 51 because there's an extra Bora there, that adds nothing.

They screwed up and missed it (even though they did try) and now they're going to actually race and not sit up. This is good.

He's certainly behind all those. And I hate to admit it Froome as well[/quote]

You can easily argue Lemond is way ahead of Armstrong...

While I agree that Lemond isn't lesser, and it is of course your opinion, I don't see how Indurain can be below Lemond. He won 2 giro tour doubles. If we count worlds, then he won the tt and he gave a worlds to Olano that he could have won himself.

Also for me Armstrong would be above Lemond. Lemond won a tour by 13 seconds. Armstromg regularly crushed Ullrich by 5 or 6 mins

Using a system of logic that would also disqualify Indurain, some others and put question marks around others thereyby murkying the waters.

but it is stupid tactic mate, they have nothing to gain, and that pretty damn frusterrating. they are racing for sky right now, and thats annoying. Whats the diffrence between finishing 15 or 16th, not a thing.

Sorry, I just threw a little jab at LeMond's legacy (I do not appreciate him particularly: for me, what he did in the last TT in 1989 was borderline cheating), but I did not want to spark this whole debate  . I think that there are already other threads overflowing with such discussions.

They are letting the lantern rouge lead over the penultimate cat 1 climb of the race, they should just stick someone on front who isn't going to do anything anyway and drop these two so the other Sky donestiques have to work
