These are the stages Valverde wins all the time, it doesn't matter if you race it differently he still wins these finishes.infeXio said:Irondan said:Without a doubt.DFA123 said:Considering how close Martin got, you've got to think Valverde would have won this by 50m.
This was Valverde's stage to lose.
All the hypotheticals... Would've probably been raced differently if he was there
Absolutely, of course it's his own fault he's not here. But, the Valverde v Sagan battle on a shallowish hill is one of the most entertaining in cycling for me. You usually on get it once or twice a season, and we've been denied it here. :sad:infeXio said:Irondan said:Without a doubt.DFA123 said:Considering how close Martin got, you've got to think Valverde would have won this by 50m.

Yo Yo Froome is alive, even on 1.6 k climbsperico said:That was encouraging for Porte and Bertie on the steep. Froome was struggling a bit in the run up, or he just took longer to rev it up considering that he ended up ahead of the rest in the sprint.
Did he gain time in the GC?rick james said:Yo Yo Froome is alive, even on 1.6 k climbsperico said:That was encouraging for Porte and Bertie on the steep. Froome was struggling a bit in the run up, or he just took longer to rev it up considering that he ended up ahead of the rest in the sprint.

Dunno if I'd say encouraging. They both tried to show and didn't really do anything.
Think Sky just judged it well tbh with timing their efforts, both Thomas and Froome came in top 10
They missed the initial split. Froome hasn't done that in the Tour in years. The FROOME-yoyo is usually saved for the Vuelta.Eclipse said:perico said:That was encouraging for Porte and Bertie on the steep.
