Portet is in.

Huez is via Madeleine, Croix de Fer.

There is a flat stage to Pau in between the mountain stages in the Pyrenees.

Signal de Bisanne or Saisies is on the beginning of the stage to la Rosiere I believe.

15 cobbled sections. Not disappointed

Disappointed with western pyrenees just being Aubisque, but descent finish is somehwat interesting because Tourmalet action would be the logical option to create gaps.

Love that cobbled stage. Quite happy with this route and some nice hilly stages. The Alpe's look very good this time around.

Col de la Croix Fry then Plateau de Gliéres, Romme and Colombiére on the stage to Grand Bornand. Nothing to scoff at here!

Signal de Bisanne, Col du Pré, Cormet de Roselend and La Rosiére on the second alpine stage.
But just around 105km long.
At least the Alpe stage is a proper mountain stage with a hard MTF.

Which will lock down the two preceding stages

15 cobble sectors, yes!
Which ones, though? Last time they had cobbles, they were extremely weaksauce.

Thanks. Camphin-en-Pévèle should be good, most of the others are rather meh but I don't know how they compare to 2010 and 2014 (which weren't exactly the hardest Paris-Roubaix sectors either). I'm worried about the length of the stage, though.

Much higher probability of rain in summer though.
That could make it interesting.

It is stage 9, last stage before a rest day and with 8 man teams, cumulative fatigue should be a lot more than usually on this stage. Peloton also likely to be a bit smaller on this stage. Gonna be nervy as hell
