I'm a little confused (which doesn't take much nowadays). So Rowe and Martin got chucked out the Tour but they can appeal (which they already have). The appeal system times out a 11am. All the riders are now riding through the neutral zone prior to the start. Would the 2 riders start the race until timed out of the appeal and then climb off if unsuccessfull or would they have already been told that before the race start. Be funny if the appeal was successful and they had an hour to make up during the race. Seems odd that the appeal time finishes after start time.

They're 1 hour ahead in France if you are in UK.

Of course they are, I'll blame my stupidity on the heat. Cheers. :D

Know the feeling :D

what a great forum this is, constantly inaccessible when it matters......
this community should migrate to reddit finally
as the news source and tech galleries we should be using cyclingtips
I started using r/peloton this year because of how unreliable this forum has become which really is a shame because I like this forum a lot.
On this topic, I took a look at the r/peloton survey that was made prior to this tour and there was one point where the users were asked where else they talk or write about cycling and there was a clear decline in the percentage of reddit users who also use cycling forums. Can't help but think what's written there is basically the decline of users of this forum

Could be.

Really dislike how reddit is just so prone to have a hivemind mentality.

Maybe Movistar rides for the team classification!?

I think this is correct, they always seem to do it.
Just in case this isn't a silly joke: They had three riders on the break, including to really good climbers. If they were riding for the team classification, they'd obviously just let it go.

The only reason they'd drop back Verona is to boost a Landa attack. The only reason they would work (over) Amador just now is because they going for the stage win with Quintana, because Landa wasn't up for an all out attack.

If they wanted the team classification this was evidently not the way to do it. Sorry if I messed up a joke, but I feel some people might actually believe this.

Finally - this year rides seem willing to invest for the glory of winning. I hope they all will stop racing for 2-3-4 or 5 place.

Fantastic racing by Movistar - at least they are trying to go for the win and I have the outmost respect for that!

I hope Pinot is on it and ready to try for the victory. He will be a big hero in France if he suceeds.

So would Alaphilippe.
Yes - of course.

He is the reason why everybody needs to attack, if they will go for the final victory. And right now we have almost everybody in top 7 who thinks they might have a shot of victory. Landa/Valverde is far off right now - but they have the team to wear everybody out today and for the coming two stages. The most important thing is, they seem keen to use the team and try to change the standings.

This wasn't a joke!

I think the problem is they try all three a bit at the same time and don't commit themselves to one thing fully.

Edith says now they succeed actually!
