All the people eager for breakaways should be worried now, having been so close to Prudhomme spreading little covids with his flag.

I don't know if he has been in close contact with the riders or teams (I hope not) but he did apparently have the French Prime Minister in his car just two days ago.

The positive tests for the staff members seems to be bad news indeed because they obviously had to have had close contact with other team members.

Yep, I remarked on the PM being in the car on that stage. Kind of defeats the purpose of bubbles if outsiders can drop in and be in close contact for hours (even with masks on).

But just to add, considering the incubation period, I would guess that he got it before Castex visited (I think it is 5 days or so?)

Do these staff memebours count in the max 2 cases limit? Like if next week there is another staff member found out does the team have to go home?

Yeah, agreed. But, he needed to schmooze him for a few hours and create some goodwill, just in case, if more riders or staff start testing positive in the following week and there will be calls to cancel the Tour. This way Prudhomme can call back on the favor to get an exception from the prime minister and let the Tour continue. It's politically very smart and trust me despite all the Covid rules and regulations for the 2020 Tour, it will go all the way to Paris, no matter what. Mark my words... The "2 people positive and you are out" is just to appease the politicians and so they get out of the race organizers way... Neither the ASO nor France can afford the fiasco of cancelling the race this year.

That's the way I see it, and I stand by it! That is, until I'm proven wrong;)

The staff members that tested positive are from Cofidis, AG2R, Ineos and Mitchelton.
Bad news for Bernal, G.Martin and Bardet..
this could mean that their teams are in higher danger to leave the race at the second rest day...

I doubt it. It says "within a 7-day period" but given that they only test two times, I would suggest that it has to be two at the same time.

Those 4 staff members are worrying me... If they have had contact with any of the riders and could've infected him, we have a full peloton in danger ATM...

The best case scenerario was with no COVID infections at all, with only one, everyone is in danger!

The show gets going again, absolutely zero wind at the start.

It looks like the only danger will be the narrow roads and road furniture around the villages.

My favourite bit of France! Roads I have cycled on for the past 12 years. I hope the wind gets up!

Why is it funny that someone has tested positive for this virus?
I mean, that's what you get for inviting politicians/vip in the race directors car under those circumstance. Of course I hope that he's asymptomatic and hasn't infected anyone else who's part of a risk group, but it's hard to feel sorry for him.
