Disqualify Sagan already. Never appreciated the guy's mentality towards colleagues.
Would've loved seeing Van Aert's result without the bodycheck, or with a slightly later timing.
He was fading into the headwind regardless, the bodycheck didn't cost him the win. Even if Sagan probably deserves a penalty.

Christian Vande Velde saying Sagan didn't push WVA off his line as footage shows Sagan clearly massively pushing WVA off his line. Realizes in real time and pivots to: "I'm more concerned about how he continued to affect his line to the finish." Glad you got there, Christian.

Why is he so hated one of the most exciting riders in the peloton?
Not hated, as much as polarizing? He’s bound to be one of the most talked about riders in the race, as he’s been the most successful (at what he does) over the past decade. And the way he rides is bound to provoke strong feelings.

Well, at least Sagan's now barging into people for the win, instead of for 5th place, so that's an, er, improvement?

Throwing him out of the race would for sure be setting an example. But then I hope they stand on that and continue doing that going forward in other cases. My trust level on that happening is not that high.

What other cases? Let's not pretend this was ever or is considered 'normal' sprinting behaviour.

Another great escape by Ewan, he looked in a hopeless position. He couldn't have stretched his arms any further with that well timed bike throw. Maybe the best sprint of the race with not much covering the top four and the best four sprinters involved.

The bias towards Sagan from commentators is hilarious at this point :p

Not sure how anyone can defend Sagan there, cycling is not a contact sport. So close to a huge mass crash at 65kmh

As much as I love Sagan, he must be DQed in order to make a statement... UCI needs to correct those dangerous moves in the peloton, if they continue allowing those behaviors, we might see worse situations than Jaksobsen's coming soon.

Shoulder to shoulder action, headbuts and pushing other riders for position, cannot be allowed at 50mph, that's insane!!

From all the reactions on TV (commentators), the consensus seems to be that Sagan's first shoulder barge was okay and probably good to let WVA know he was there, but then persisting on further barges was not okay. Whether enough to warrant relegation is still up in the air(?)

It is kind of difficult to tell you exactly what future cases there will be. The point is just that the jury lines have to be consistent.

I called for DSQ of Bennett the other day, and would call for DSQ of Sagan. He used his shoulder but also his head, and he did so against the cleanest sprinter of the peloton.

WvA could easily have closed the door for Sagan but he is too nice. If this doesn't lead to any fine or DSQ, you convert yet another clean sprinter into a dirty one.

And from WvA's interview, he said a four-letter word and Sagain said the same thing back like he didn't feel any remorse.

The main issue here is that Sagan does it all the time. If they don't do anything now, he will continue to create unnecessary risks and will always have this race to use it as an example.
