Thank gawd a worthy KOM now. Enough of that pretender
While I give credit to Pogačar for recognising the chance to get the GPM and therefore give himself something out of this race even if it goes wrong, this stage now has to live up to its potential.

If the stage lives up to his potential and Tadej takes the maillot à pois, all is fine. But if we just get a Jumbo-Visma tempo ride, it is a travesty, because Benoît Cosnefroy has killed himself ten times over trying to protect that jersey and him riding in with the polka dots over 4 hours down on GC and in the 130s overall would have been the KOM the race deserved.

Bahrain's efforts were never going to pay off here if they did at all. The hope of pay off will be that when they hammer it on the finale that there's a lot less in the tank from JV and reeling in Landa relies on team leaders / super doms and not WVA's miraculous legs

Too soon to say IMO

They used the heavy guys on the first climb, to keep the break in check, and still have the mountain doms for the last one.

I view it as a play for a Landa stage win.

well, it's not only about today, there's another tough stage tomorrow, where you can potentially attack early on
