Yap. Talks a lot of good game but always manages to let people down.

Today is not laugh at Bahrain, they did their job, but it was really peak free Landa that his team tees him up the whole day and when they come to the end of their matches he meekly slips back into anonymity in the lead group and then shortly after falls out the other side.

I still prefer to see that, than riders sit in the main group with teammates and do absolutely nothing; just wait for them to gradually drop off one by one. At least Landa put his cards on the table, but just didn't have the legs when it came down to it.

I dont think amyone makes fun of the team. They were strong. But Landa is a joke. Speaking of a dud earlier in the thread, Landa is surely closer to being one then Ala. Strong in *** talking and creating intern problems, not so much on the bike.

Id have to agree. Landa seemingly always complains about being bottlenecked then when he has the chance he fails. Not a big Landa fan anyway so seeing him bonk didn’t hurt my feelings. I’d take Ala over him any day. BTW...giving Ala the combative award is nothing but homerism. Carapaz should have gotten it

Last year's Vuelta top GC field was so weak that the top 3 of this Tour were 1st, 3rd and 4th at last years' Vuelta. I'm confused...how is this possible

Going back through the results over the last two years, it’s funny that some in the media have pushed the narrative of Pogacar being a better TTer than Roglic because of 1 national championship.

Roglic put 1:30 into Tadej in the Vuelta TT last year. Before that Roglic has proven to be a world class TTer. Roglic won 4 TTs races last year. He won 2 in 3 in 2017.

He’s world class and has beaten Pogacar head to head on a couple of occasions. 1 victory in a national championship in their first race back after not racing for months because of a pandemic does not put them on equal footing.

Pogacar did the steepest part on a Road bike and changed bikes. This was the better tactic but Roglic didn't take the chance because he only had one person in the teamcar (the driver?). This is what i understand went down.

You pull for your captain and follow team orders but you're not guaranteed this will bring you wins or jerseys or anything.

It's the very nature of the sport and I'm not sure why Landa should be blamed by his teammates for not having the legs to finish their wonderful effort.

I agree, but you have to remember the first 30 k is flat, so it will have a significant impact on the total time.

I'm expecting very little tomorrow. Too far from the last classified climb to the finish. Jumbo as a team are too strong for anything to happen unless several teams gang up on them

Yes, also in the steepest part at the beginning Pog got 30s and Roglic got worse weather. The only question mark regarding Roglic ITT is his fatigue. If this ITT would be at the beginning Roglic would get like a minute on Pog.

It s not that Landa couldn't pulll it off its just he didnt look good at all today

A strong pace on both HC climbs and a great battle on Col de la Loze. Congrats to Lopez, a fantastic climber who usually attacks a lot more in a GT. It looks like he and the team decided to keep their powder dry almost till the end and make one big attack at the right moment. He's been also too inconsistent to fight for the win but usually because of crashes and injuries. He is consistent the whole Tour this year. Let's see how he goes tomorrow.

It never looked likely Pogacar can take the time back even before now. Let's count the times Roglic has lost 41 seconds to any GC rival in a time trial, for example...
