I like the fact that there are some pretty clear rules; bike has to come from the car, and max five second push.

You want to be both safe and sorry?

I know the phrase is actually "safe than sorry", but she will be sorry to not go to PDBF, but I was making a bad joke that this might not be safe....

It's Red Rick's button type stuff, so probably ignore it.

Or refer to Libertine Seguros' post on the first page of this thread

Re bike changes: could always give a 30 second time penalty for any bike change, or an amount that would discourage anyone from changing unless they had a genuine mechanical.

Think you might as well just ban them if you're trying to arbitrarily penalise to the point that they are nullified anyway.

That or just make specialised TT rigs a thing of the past but I suspect I'm close to alone on that :p

Yeah, I am basically banning them, but you can't have a rider unable to finish their ITT, hence my sort of disclaimer. Like, with Roglic tonight, a mechanical wouldn't necessarily cost him the TDF, but a 30 second penalty might mean that he wouldn't pretend to have a mechanical so that he could change his bike.

Why should there be penalties for, or the need for permission to be given to do, something that is entirely within the rules?

So: likelihood of changes in GC top ten:
Uran to pass Yates 90%
Dumoulin to pass Yates 60%
Dumoulin to pass Uran 20%
Caruso to pass Valverde 20%
Mas to pass Landa 15%
Porte to pass Lopez 10%

Any other change <5%

in 2014 I drove out to watch the Tour de France and first drove up it, apparently, the road should have been shut at the bottom (It was wide open as I explained to the the Gendarmes at the top who went apoplectic!!!) the next day rode up it Argggh! I am not a pro and not even a top club cyclist and I would not want to have to do a time trial up it as we all know it gets very very steep towards the top but when you see it! I would NOT like to have to ride an ITT up it.

Dumoulin to pass Mas?

Actually. I doubt it. More wishful thinking. And it would need Tom to be in top shape.

However, I do think we are going to see bigger gaps than people expect here...

Six finalists for the super-combatif announced.
Hirschi
Alaphilippe
Rolland
Kämna
Powless
Carapaz

At the moment Hirschi leads Twitter vote by a clear margin with Rolland on second place.

Hirschi for me.

Then Carapaz.

Powless did really well, but I think you have to at least get closer to winning a stage. Just my opinion of course. Rolland was never close.

Love Ala as a rider but I don’t want him to benefit even more from partial judges than he already did.
