Voigt just told a story on German Eurosport that when he was riding with Andy Schleck, Andy just wouldn't prepare any rain jackets or gloves for bad weather and would instead just casually take the stuff from his teammates ^^

Most Andy Schleck story ever.

Wonder if anyone just started bringing extra, just in case... like; "Oh, well... better bring an extra jacket; Andy's probably gonna steal it..."

And Perez wins the first mountain-battle.

I'm torn about the Mads Pedersen thing.

I mean, he beats Trentin in a sprint for worlds, he beats Ackermann in a sprint in Poland, he beats all the top sprinters but Kristoff on stage 1.... and then he is now supposed to do lead out for Theuns?

On the other hand, I can really appreciate the team spirit on Trek, where they all ride for each other.

My head says it's an idiotic decision, by heart says "great job"

Pedersen knows he will get more chances later. It keeps him humble and hungry for the next chance.

And maybe for someone like Theuns. Knowing he will get an opportunity every now and then, gives his extra as a helper all the other times. It is good for team spirit.

Close inspection of wind direction/speed suggests posssible cross wind conditions between Digne les Bains and Les Mees before they turn in to headwind to Sisteron. Not sure of the exposure of the terrain but could be a nervous peloton

Depends, I'd say. If Theuns has realistic chances, yes. But if Pedersen has serious chances and Theuns' chances are minimal, I don't think that's really a good thing for the team spirit.

I see nobody has mentioned the latest UCI news, which says they have found a new place for Worlds, on the same dates (in 16 days), in France (apparently Sallanches, where Hinault won in 1980).

Tweet from Lappartient, which says "more info to come on 2nd September".

You might want to head over to your own - if now slightly wrongly named - thread.

Well, that explains his antipathy against rain. If I wouldn't even have my own jacket and would have to ask others for theirs, I would too not like the situation :D

I agree.

Theuns has tbf showed before he could make a good result, on his day. It is not like they letting someone obscure sprint instead of Pedersen.

Question is form, which is difficult to answer right now. If he struggles, Im sure Pedersen will get the nod going forward.
