No MOV riders could keep up until the end... Man it's really going to be a long and painful season for them huh.

Mas is the worst sprinter in the peloton. He and Buchmann lost about 6 seconds there in the sprint. His problem is positioning. Awful.

Not a very exciting stage at all, but it is only stage 4. No one was realistically going to go for anything but the stage win here. The big mountains are still to come.

2 conclusions

  1. Roglic did survive that crash
  2. Alaphilippe is never gonna happen this year

Roglic is so hard to out sprint now in those types of stages, Carapaz lost some time. Stage went as expected pretty much.

I hope Ala gives up on the next mountain stage and doesn't destroy his season like last year. After losing some time he could win a couple more stages.

I... wouldn't say Alaphilippe's season last year was destroyed. Especially because he had a pretty good season before the Tour.
Of course this year there - practically - was no "before the Tour", so this year your plan might be quite a good idea.

I seriously dont know what people were expecting here, this was the most obvious sprint MTF ever
True. Hence why ASO should have either beefed up the run-in, or dropped this MTF altogether in exchange for beefing up any combination of Stage 6/8/9.

Sure he had a great season, but after tour he was cooked. I would like to see him in classics and worlds this year.
