Great sprint a day after some great mountain doming. Reminds me of a young Peter Sagan.

Bennett seemed mostly concerned with Sagan's wheel too which shows he knows what he is doing and bodes well for a green bid

Wow Van Aert strikes again! What a powerhouse, and after yesterdays uphill performance even more impressive.

His positioning is so natural, like Sagan. He's just always where he wants and needs to be. Compare to Greipel or some others, they always have to be baby-sitted (and even then often lost position) - Van Aert and Sagan don't need any of that. Seems like a natural ability.

crazy thing is he could win flandres and P-R alone.

but he would also win the sprint if he came into the finish with a group.

and he freakin' climbs!

nuts.

Loooooooove it!

Looked more convincing than it probably was. Holding the nerves was crucial imo.
Congrats to Van Aert.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does with this type of form... It's on his schedule later this year!

Some sprint from Van Aert. Superb form.

Sagan will pick up more sprint points than Bennett when the going gets tough. Am reminded of when Cav was trying to take green and Thor Hushovd decided to get in the break over some big Alpine climbs to take intermediate sprint points. A 'This is how you win green Cav' moment.

Van Avermaet won the Olympics on a climber route and won Paris Roubaix 7 months later. It's not like we have never seen a rider like WVA before
Van Avermaet's biggest strength has always been his racing instinct though. That's what won him most of his biggest wins. I don't really think there is a single physical aspect right now where I would rate GVA higher than current WVA.
Sprint? WVA
Time Trial? WVA
climbing? WVA
explosiveness? WVA
