Sagan should have stayed on Van Aert's wheel rather than letting him go and sliding behind Mezgec... At that point it became the race for the 3rd!!! Still, good showing by allEwan was in a hopeless position, no chance from where he started his sprint.
they have already lost their 3 best riders. He has 2 guys who can help him in the final. He can only blame his team (he won't). Isn't Lotto-Soudal build around him??
Didn't they lose both Gilbert and Degenkolb on day one? That was probably a huge blow for their team.He can only blame his team (he won't). Isn't Lotto-Soudal build around him??
Settle down nowI wouldn't be surprised if he does with this type of form... It's on his schedule later this year!
Jumbo 1, 2, 3 on top of PDBF.

Who's the 3rd?
Some sprint from Van Aert. Superb form.
Sagan will pick up more sprint points than Bennett when the going gets tough. Am reminded of when Cav was trying to take green and Thor Hushovd decided to get in the break over some big Alpine climbs to take intermediate sprint points. A 'This is how you win green Cav' moment.

I think lots of the sprinters of Cavs generation thought winning green was all about winning stages which is why Sagan was able to clean up when he came along.
I think Bennett is smarter than that and he knows the Bora tactics so he won't let Sagan off up the road so easy. But in the end I do think Sagan will still win green
Van Avermaet won the Olympics on a climber route and won Paris Roubaix 7 months later. It's not like we have never seen a rider like WVA before

Very surprising that the jury dared to give the French chouchou a time punishment.Ala losing yellow, unexpected !

Yeah true. Not something you would expect from a team like DQS.More surprising to me that the team fed him at that point. What went wrong there?

That is, I said he's going to hand it to Primoz this evening in the WC-thread, but I did not expect this turn...
