Kelly and Kirby actually laughing at this descending

I mean I feel a bit sorry for the guy but he goes down like a figure skater

I think think he might have high muscle/tendon tension or something which could make him a little more susceptible to injury, but that's it.

I think Pinot would've been so much better off in a big team.
Maybe he'd be better off on a big team, but himself and Madiot seem to have a great love and mutual respect for each other - I don't think he'd get the same kind of support on another team. But then again, he'd surely benefit from stronger teammates in the mountains.

Not if it was plain dumv luck with a crash. If he was getting 3 hours physiotherapy a day and did not lose time to the rest until today, I would say he is plenty tough enough
I'm not saying it's a matter of toughness.
But there are bodies that respond better to hits or illness than others. And over the course of 3 weeks it's common to have some kind of mishaps.
It's possible he was the unluckiest among the ones who crashed, I'm not denying that. But if this happens systematically to one rider, and very rarely to others, perhaps there is something structural in this one rider's body that just isn't made for a three week race. Ability to stay healthy is a key skill for GT riders. Some simply don't possess it.
