Think Carapaz should've at least tested the others, just a short attack to see if everyone is at his wheel right away. Now everyone will just stick to the Ineos train, doesn't really matter if they have the numerical advantage
Headwind then descent makes attacking futile. Need to wait for last climb.

Ineos have isolated Pogacar and Vingegaard, but that will only matter if they have a puncture or mechanical. It's not like Ineos have any interesting tactics they can play - this final climb is all about Carapaz dropping his rivals.

Yesterday I said that Cattaneo's ability to pace himself impressed me, but after the race he said that he knows his numbers and only looks at his wattage, not how his opponents race...

LOL so you put a rider up the road to drop back, and of all riders Cofidis had Ruben Fernandez to try and help on a descent. Blind leading the blind.
