I wondered how big Jonas Rutsch is, because he looks *** huge on that bike, 1.97 m apparently.

Lol Israel and Ineos helping Qucikstep to a stage win.
Crazy, who writes strategies for these teams? "Let's bring sprinters to the line, maybe we will win somehow"

They are not riding for DQS, but they didn't get anyone into the breaks on the last stage where they have a chance to win. They will attack latter, just to be pulled back in by Bahrain and whoever loses out the next time.

I think the peloton will surrender in 10 km or so.

...

Bahrain should at this point tell Mohoric not to pull and wait for the chase group, as he is just wasting his energy now.

Okay but why are Bahrain chasing don their own teammate Mohoric?

I think they hoped the second group wouldn't make it, but that would also be a bit stupid, cause without more teams represented in the break, it will have a smaller chance of actually succeeding.

I'd actually think Mohoric has a very good chance. He's strong enough to ride away imo. He's got a better chance than Colbrelli winning a bunch sprint imo.

They think the second group will catch the first. If it does they think Mohoric has little chance.
Yes, at first it seemed like they almost made it (before Stuyven decimated the chasers), but it's been clear for a while now that the chasers would catch the front group before the peloton.

And from that moment on they should have told Mohoric immediately to sit up and wait in the chase group.

Peloton will catch this insanely it looks like now. The teams chasing would nearly be better off just launching whoever they want in the break here rather than handing it to Cav.

A new attack can still win this.

Now it's only Israel and BikeExchange chasing.

I think the break has it, there are simply not enough riders in the peloton to chase.

DQS are probably there in full though so if it's only a small group going away then they'll control it easily, and if it's a large group, the teams chasing don't have someone who can win anyway (Colbrelli or Matthews won't be allowed go away).

None of The Barb's predictions have been active so far, and I'm seeing a weird similarity here with the Giro Josef Cerny stage (in that instance the stage was literally cut in half for different reasons). But here we are for all intents and purposes possibly starting from scratch again with half the stage to go.
