Crazy good tt that was! And it's going to produce great race onwards as others need to attack now so hard, actually Ineos that is, looking forward something like Giro 2020. G is D this time, R is T this time (which R you might ask) let's see how it goes..Pogi is Pogi unfortunately.

The problem is they are already too far behind, and Roglič is not going to get back to 100% this Tour. Those wounds just take too much energy to recover from.

I do think that both Carapaz and Roglič (if he can recover somewhat) will attack Pogačar, I just don't think they can challenge him unless he has a truly bad day, worse than he's had for a few years now.

Blow the race up 100km from the finish in the mountains. Send van Aert to set a monster tempo (as punishment for his selfishness) & form an alliance between JV, Ineos & Movistar.

I half jest of course (i.e. Pogacar is unbeatable), but these teams need to get a grip of their tactics & appreciate the fact the fight for the top 3 is real, demands work from the entire team committed to the task.

I knew it was weird when I read from various Jumbo sources weeks ago about their week 1 plan to get van Aert in yellow (i.e. why on earth is wasting energy for such B.S. helpful?), but I didn't think they'd actually go through with that plan - even after Roglic crashed. Idiots.

In any case, if Roglic can recover somewhat, we'll get an interesting fight for second.

My brain is hardly able to process the results.
Apart from Pogacar:
Vingegaard faster than everyone except for Pogacar and Küng.
Van der Poel faster than Asgreen and Porte.
Alaphilippe faster than most GC guys but still a lot slower than Vingegaard and van der Poel.
Guys like Hamilton, Nibali and Bilbao practically nowhere to be seen.
(And I'm not even talking about guys like Roglic and Thomas because we know their injuries.)
o_O
Asgreen beat VdP in a sprint, it's only fair that VdP now beats him in a TT.

I agree that's what they should do. They need to isolate Pogačar early and force him to respond to every attack. It's the only chance they have to beat him at this stage. But as you said, it's very unlikely that will happen. Though I do think Carapaz is the kind of rider who is willing to take a risk and attack. I think the question is whether Thomas is willing to go along with it.

And Urán is a major wildcard as well. Though he already finished second in the Tour before, so he might be more willing to take a risk if he feels good enough to challenge for the win if Pogačar cracks somehow.
