I remember there was a stage this year (Giro?) which wasn't an ITT, but where many of us kept talking about ITT's. This thread is returning that favour I guess.

Though I don't think that other stage was a pens stage. Anyway, they're everywhere (quite unlike ITT's), but whenever you want to use one, they seem to go into hiding.
