Pogacar doesn't have Heras, Landis or Hamilton with him, as long as enough riders don't conserve their top 10s then it could still be interesting.

The idea that everyone would be at the same level this year as they were last and that it was just a matter of changing race tactics was a false assumption from the start.

The winner was a 21 year old.

He is now 22.

There was always a strong chance that Pog was the variable in ascendency.

Fignon 83 — surprise, winner at very young age
Fignon 84 — absolute domination the next year

I do think so, but it's both speculative and pointless to talk about it.

Yup. Roglic would have been around Kungs time imo at worst, and he was already ahead of Pogacar when he crashed in GC.
