Pog definitely used some energy, and his team will feel this stage, so I wouldn't say it was a great day for him. better than it could of been thanks to Movistar, but his team couldn't even chase down for 1 day, so not sure how helpful they will be too him if he is ganged up on in the mountains
Who is ganging up on him? Carapaz is the only guy he has to watch anymore. Nobody else is capable of dropping him in the mountains.
And then he has another 45 seconds+ advantage on everyone in the final TT to come anyway.

Movistar...........he won us a Giro........lets chase him down. They cancel Carapaz they help Pogacar, either way they lose as it didn't help Mas at all. Ineos left it much too late to make a move like that but the result may have ended up the same. But Roglic is out of the picture now and he obviously went deep in the TT.

Felt sorry for Roglic.

I know the circs are different (injuries), but the sinking feeling I got reminded me a bit of when we all used to hype Ulle up, "Oh he looks sharp this year, been doing 9 hour rides with a bottle of water" then his sad face getting dropped as soon as the road went up.

Y did the commentators keep mentioning Nibali as the GC threat. It is freakin’ Van Aert.

He won’t have to ride for Rog. Very few MTFs. Not saying he will beat Pog (untouchable). But look how he did in Tirenno… and in the mountains last year. And he dropped Nibali by a minute (?) in just 10 kms…

For starters i would make them chase LRP tomorrow and sunday, try and get him in a break and see if one can stick. Alaphillipe could still win this whole thing, and if G can stay with the bunch to the rest day he could feel better in the Pyrenees also

Ya, Vingegaard too. He'll gain time on most of the non Pog guys in the time trial and is a capable climber. Won't win but I could see a top 10 easily.
