I hope Van Aert will ease a bit, so all breakaway action is over when the peloton starts the climb.

He seems to have on and off days a lot, he is still really young but that is not a good indication for future GC aspirations.

He's been ill most of the season, and wasn't even supposed to be riding the Tour. Honestly, I think this tells us very little about his GC potential. He has other goals this season - MTB and Road Worlds for the treble.

Pidcock may as well try and cling on for a top 10, easy day tomorrow and rest after it, 3rd week moderately difficult but only one stage where you can lose huge time.

Pidders said he got only 2 hours sleep the night after Alpe d'Huez because of excitement and because he had caffeine. (He's known to avoid caffeine and alcohol.) He got 10 hours sleep last night, but still might not have fully recovered.
