I know he only has 3 helpers left, but Pog with only 1 guy before they're even close to the top of the first mountain..

It's not like JV is going to attack him. He can follow JV all the way a try something on the last climb without any need for help.

@RedheadDane what was it you said before about the break vs peloton?

I think it is more riders in the break... so is that the peloton now?

I'm not even sure anymore... looks like several riders got dropped from the front and some of them - like Geschke - got caught by the Vingegaard group (peloton).
Where is everyone?

The gap to the break is still only 1:30. At this point in time you couldn't say that the break will definitely take the stage today.

Why is Kuss doing so much work?

They should probably be burning Van Hooydonck, who probably won't make it to the second summit with the group, but Kuss pacing while not trying to catch the break at all probably didn't burn him. He'll probably still be able to help partway up the final climb, depending on tactics and legs.
