Pogi could i guess start contesting for green now. JV being his leadout. A nice opportunity presented to take in my opinion.

I first watched Jonas Vingegaard in the 2020 Vuelta. He did work on the flat (filtering breakaways) & his most notable contribution was pacing the early section of the Angliru.
Not exactly, there were six or seven guys left on Angliru when he was done and then he waited for Bennett and worked for him before finishing 14th on the stage. For sure there's not much evidence to say his strength is the highest mountains; it's just the good performances every time he has tried: Angliru (that Vuelta was the first experience with real mountain stages) and Col du Portet and Ventoux last year.

Covid with its first victim. Geoffrey Bouchard out because of a positive test.

He wasn't in the top 100 yesterday, so he must have been feeling bad, otherwise he would be allowed to stay in the race.
O'Connor next maybe? Pretty poor performance the past two days, and he didn't sound quite sure what's the reason

For sure there's not much evidence to say his strength is the highest mountains; it's just the good performances every time he has tried: Angliru (he has not raced a lot, that Vuelta was the first experience with real mountain stages) and Col du Portet and Ventoux last year.

I did say the Angliru was his most notable performance. Also, his stage win in UAE 2021 was by far his best result until then (which was then followed by an even better performance in Itzulia).

I also know about Vingegaard because Jumbo often speak about how Roglic treats him like a little brother, how he believed in him & he was the first to say in the pre-2021 TdF altitude training camp that Vingegaard could win the Tour based on his numbers. I'm a bit of a Jumbo Visma geek so I know mostly what's what & who's saying/doing what in that team. But something has changed recently with Vingegaard & its not just his performance, no, it's how the team now talks him up all the time. They usually never do this with their riders (certainly not Roglic who they always try to present as not a favorite).

It's just something I've noticed & all the talk about Jonas Vingegaard being better on the big climbs next week is part of that same presentation.

If you sit in the same team bus, chances are unfortunately not low... In the TdS there were several team cascades. Lets see and hope for the best.

I think the new variants are often not recognized by the tests, so there might be quite a few positive people who have no positive test. Anyway, Længen out is really bad news for Pogacar, both as a missing helper and as a threat for them all.

Pog is a professionnal. He probably got covid on purpose several times during the winter break to be safe for the rest of the year. (or maybe more shots ?)
Also, he is still very young, quite rare to be symptomatic at his age.

Assuming Pog doesn't get it too Jumbo have to take advantage. They should be trying one-two punches and ambushes on medium mountain stages, although that's not their style at all.
Couldn‘t agree more, also with Hirschi barely making it through the stages should give Jumbo more reason to do this.

If UAE were smart they'd have got Pogacar his own camper van, Giro Richie style.

Then again they put Soler, Ayuso, Bennett and Almedia in a team once and told them they could "all be the leader!" so I have my doubts.
