I'm comfortable with a Turkish person bringing and waving a Turkish flag. Seems fine. Better than people waving those give-away Japanese-ish flags in riders' faces.

I think we may see much larger gaps on GC, than the profile of the stages seem to indicate we might get.

Great win by Izaguirre. And altogether just a really enjoyable stage. I'm curious how much riders will feel this in their legs on the coming weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if someone cracked badly on the Grand Colombiere, though I must admit, as far as mountain stages go, tomorrow is probably the perfect one for people who were suffering today.

Froome is hugely popular in Japan (go figure!), so that was kick-back for when Ineos discarded Froome at his peak.

I'd be amazed if they have anything like that sort of budget anymore. Last year, Carapaz and Yates went. This year Rodriguez, Hart, Tullet, possibly De Plus and Sivakov as well. No big signings in three years, unless you count Pidcock?

Most sources list Ineos as having the highest budget, though I imagine UAE may have more funds than are listed. I imagine Ineos have fat contracts for their existing riders, which probably explains why they're having to let a lot go. Bernal and Thomas must be earning a lot, and they're supposedly looking to make a big move for Remco.
