Why are commentators saying this is down to UAE, but Vingegaard is also losing his chances. If I was UAE or Jumbo I wouldn't let Ciccone or Hindley gain 2 minutes just for free, they are both possible GC winners. They can play the Wout and Laporte card and not do any work, but in the end it's not going to help them.
Ciccone I wouldn’t be afraid to give 5 minutes. Hindley I wouldn’t dare give more than 1-2 minutes.

Imagined conversation between Kim Andersen and Quinn Simmons:

“Does it hurt?”
“Yes”
“Ok, here are some bottles for you”

:p

Well, the risk is no different for jumbo as UAE. Jonas is the defending champion. He is logically still the favourite, the wishes of the fans aside. But half of Jumbo is in the break so who knows. I'm from Australia so go Jai and the breakaway ha ha.
Jumbo can better manipulate the break. Now they have Van Aert without any GC riders.

It's also pretty annoying to hear Vingegaard say over and over again that there are many rivals, yet he just lets Hindley get two minutes.

Who are "all those rivals" if he isn't included?

This stage reminds me of RVV 2022 and RVV 2023. Seems like Pogacar loves that kind of racing where he has strong guys in front of him.

What I know is this stage has been very hard which is very good for Pogi. He is the gc rider who suffers less in flat terrain.
