Everybody was tired after yesterday’s tough day, so the break was always going to form quicker than yesterday.
These are pro riders and no matter how tired they are they can all go extremely hard for 10-15k at the start of a stage.
I guess it comes down to motivation and it is what it is but I just remarked it is a shame for us, the viewers, that we probably will not get to see massive carnage.

FFS its called criticism ..Every sport person gets it , every team from all fans

You must be one of those millenniums where any criticism has to be called hate as people cant take it
You have a weird idea of what constitutes criticism. I say Van Aert gets in the break when he wants to be in the break, someone responds with "if only he could become world champion"... what's the relevance? Discussion is great, but this doesn't make any sense.

Here is a thought: Bora want to make the stage hard because they think Hindley is in great shape and there might be a possibility that Pogacar will struggle and lose time. Maybe now is the time to distance Pog before he eventually gets in better shape.

If they really think Hindley could do it, then they should put pressure on to see what happens. But I'm not sure Hindley actually can attack Pogacar succesfully. On the other hand, if you never try...... and perhaps he can make some more distance to expected riders at 4-10 place.

WVA for JV in front need more than 3 minutes when they reach Tourmalet - perhaps they have to send more people out in front at Aspin to help out a later attack.

Does this play into TJV's hands to distance Pog further? A hard pace from the start and van Aert in the break.
Should they take over and push the pace on the climbs if Bora doms can't hold a high pace. Just to make it hard for Pog.

That does not make it hate. Words have a meaning and it does make sense not to dilute this meaning. Also this is not a podium discussion, so its problably good to let some things slip even if they does not make sense. (not following my own advise here :innocent:)

Pretty sure Bora don't want WVA getting over Tourmalet. I see the reasoning behind that but I don't agree that much. If you arrive at the bottom of Cauterets with the stage win up for grabs you'll be open to attacks left and right, not sure that's ideal. Although you could also argue that arriving there with a big group is already a win because best Jumbo can do is make the race hard from there to set up Vingegaard.

Yes, of course it's not hate in it's strict dictionary meaning. It's hate in the internet sense. Anyway, this wasn't my point at all, just surprised to get such a reaction when you say someone is good at getting in breaks :)
