One final thought: MvDP in the break (lolz)...uh...okay...at one point, he flicked his elbow and looked back at Wout on the descent to help him pull...like he hasn't been a complete a$$ to Wout all year. Wout initially shook his head, but did pull through...with little effort...I think the days of any pretense of congeniality between them is gone, based mostly on how Mathieu has treated Wout this year. There used to be some friendish things, but when Pog and Mathieu did their combined thing in E3, I think it really hurt Wout, and I think Pog is continuing to needle wherever he can. It actually smacks of bullying...it's one reason I've lost some respect for both Mathieu and Pog.
What a nonsense. Even yesterday they were side by side happily chatting in the bunch. They are not enemies like you make them out to be.

Jumbo rode the perfect race specially after what happened yesterday, how could they expect Pogi to be back to his normal self today? Now, they should test Pogi on stage 9, if Vinge can't drop Pogacar, they must ride a conservative race in week 2. Pogi is too close specially if Jumbo deliver him bonus seconds.
It's hardly a perfect race when you lose 30 sec to biggest rival, and allow him to be back in the race.
I don't blame them for trying though, it looked like a perfect chance. Everything went their way, Van Aert was up front, Kelderman dropped all of them, bar Pogacar, it was really natural to go all in.
But..., this is Pogacar we're talking about, it was a gamble nonetheless, and it didn'y pay off. On the contrary...
I'm really intereted if they will try on Puy de Dome, or it will be another way around.

They just don't really care for each other.

Wasn't Pog having a friendly chat with WVA at the start? You should stop having these weird fantasies.

How Mathieu treated Wout this year? And what is the difference to previous years?

That's what is going to make Sunday so much fun...the potential is there for someone to screw up badly...or, they let the break go, after a hard week, and live to fight the GC out for another day. I hope that isn't the case, but I would not be surprised to be disappointed Sunday after the stage. Hopefully, as a nod to the past epicness of the climb, they will honor it and us with an all out battle.

Poor innocente Wout.
Did he tell the teacher about it?

What in E3?
He let him win there, no?
They didn't "let" him win.

Mathieu and Pog were talking and being animated toward each other during the entire break, and they rarely, if ever, talked to Wout. Read Wout's comments after the race, when asked about it. He indicated that neither really included him in on their conversation. I think that was probably more driven by Pog (and I think Pog was driven by being dropped by Wout last Tour), but I saw what I saw, and Wout confirmed it after.

Those f**king commercials. My god. :tearsofjoy:
Well actually if visiting Youtube or free version of Spotify, memyselfandi think there's quite a low percentage of commercials on Move podcast...

Good analysis they have and ofc they know the game no matter history they have. Like Bruyneel said some things don't change no matter sports science advantages etc. It's still 'eat now, pay later'.

And really good add to the podcast team is Spencer Martin too.

Nope...a whole lotta nope from me. I'd rather listen to someone with explosive diarrhea, playing the trumpet with their sphincter, than listen to Bruyneel talk about anything. Thanks tho.

It's no secret that Pogi and MvdP are close friends, way closer than both of them are with WVA, so of course they are gonna talk more with each other. That said, unless Wout openly said they were mocking him or something like that, i don't know how you can consider that bullying. Pog raced hard, tried to drop them both 'cause he knew he had close to 0 chances in a flat sprint. He even tried a desperate move by launching the sprint from really far away, which took away MvdP's best weapon, his acceleration from slow speed, so in fact he helped Wout there. So yeah, while they surely did not let him win, it's not like they raced as two teammates to make him lose either.
