WvA gave it a go on stage 6 already.Easy peasy for Philipsen in the end - surprised to see WvA giving it a go. Must feel better. Girmay 2nd and some more Green Jersey points. At the moment he would be a deserved winner.
I am told that Cav crop dusted, causing the gaps. Was there a crash in the last 2-3km? Suddenly some gaps.
A 5th and a 7th place from having a dedicated leadout in the Giro and Tour. One time Degenkolb sprints he finishes 7th and Lund got one 5th place in the Giro.Fabio with a nice 130th place.

Big John Degenkolb 7th place
Arnaud de Lie got lost in the bunch. He needs to find and fight for Jasper's wheel, which is Bini's strategy at the moment.A 5th and a 7th place from having a dedicated leadout in the Giro and Tour. One time Degenkolb sprints he finishes 7th and Lund got one 5th place in the Giro.
Philipsen's deviation on stage 6 was also minusculeI don't think that'll happen. It was a minuscule veer right, like 5-10m before the finish.
Philipsen had a warning that morning though.Philipsen's deviation on stage 6 was also minuscule
Yes, he's obviously gotten faster and seems like he's as fast as just about any other sprinter these days, though I'd say the two current fastest sprinters aren't here. It would have been interesting to see if he could have come past Philipsen if he'd have been better placed at the very end. In any case, good leadout from MVDP and a great win for JP. Good for him. Now we just need De Lie to get a win.Impressed with Girmay on a flat sprint again.
Clearly, it being on the barriers was a factor.Philipsen's deviation on stage 6 was also minuscule
True enough, though it was a bit more than Bini's move. I wouldn't have relegated Philipsen myself but I guess it was influenced some by his history.Philipsen's deviation on stage 6 was also minuscule
Because you want a bit for everyone in the biggest race in the world, and to give the GC guys a bit of a rest day"Sprinters have to have their stages"
Why again?

He said in the post-race interview (I'm paraphrasing) that the leadout was just as good on stage 6, but Philipsen waited too long.I guess Van der Poel was told on the rest day to do a proper lead out.
I can’t disagree, but good stages are comingThey had a restday YESTERDAY! [[ deleted contant]] What happened today is bad for the sport and this is by far the biggest stage for it.
