Easy peasy for Philipsen in the end - surprised to see WvA giving it a go. Must feel better. Girmay 2nd and some more Green Jersey points. At the moment he would be a deserved winner.
WvA gave it a go on stage 6 already.

Impressed with Girmay on a flat sprint again.
Yes, he's obviously gotten faster and seems like he's as fast as just about any other sprinter these days, though I'd say the two current fastest sprinters aren't here. It would have been interesting to see if he could have come past Philipsen if he'd have been better placed at the very end. In any case, good leadout from MVDP and a great win for JP. Good for him. Now we just need De Lie to get a win.

Philipsen's deviation on stage 6 was also minuscule
True enough, though it was a bit more than Bini's move. I wouldn't have relegated Philipsen myself but I guess it was influenced some by his history.

Congratulations to Jasper Philipsen for winning the stage and to Mathieu van der Poel for providing a perfect lead out.

Peloton self neutralized and all agreed they need an additional rest day, that shows on just how hard first week was. On top of that a rather perfect answer to being treated like a circus animal, as fans for sure would rather have them ride cobbles today. A rather demanding stage coming up tomorrow so all focus already on that.

They had a restday YESTERDAY! [[ deleted contant]] What happened today is bad for the sport and this is by far the biggest stage for it.
I can’t disagree, but good stages are coming

"Sprinters have to have their stages"

Why again?

People can always gather and organise a GT race without including sprinters, and lets see on how that goes.

They had a restday YESTERDAY! Some of you people are such simps its really annoying

As far as i am concerned they can rest tomorrow too, slowly increasing the tension towards the week two finale. Some of us just like slow food and not sure if all the people that love slow food are simps. If yes then so be it.
