Now have Stuyven, Pidcock, Healy, Turgis, Aranburu and Lutsenko who are all either ex-MTB, Cyclo-cross racers or pretty good on rougher services.

+1. I find it interesting to say the least that many people expect him to be at his best in week 3. I expect the opposite to happen giving his troubles after the crash. I'll have some eyebrows raised if he beats everyone.
Yep. In the old days, people "rode into shape" because they were overweight. Not sure it works that way with injuries. But as you say, we'll have to wait and see.

I say "old days." It's something Grandpa G did a few years ago.

It really must be his bike. Like the ITT he mistook a sound for a puncture and maybe something similar happened now
