hahaha did he say ''Tadej and I?'' Its been obvious from stage 1 that Remco runs to Pogacar with everything. Even said that after the San Luca stage where it was all over social media. This just comfirms it he wanne be in the club with him haha ''Tadej and I'' epic. Cant fault him for it either as Evenpoel is a stronger rider than Vingegaard and overall a more complete rider and above in the pecking order. Would be weirder if someone like Rodriguez said something like this. But still cant help to feel somewhat bad for Vingegaard after yesterday outlash towards him on social and tv and so on, I get its not his fault hes not as strong and only racing to his capabilities-strenghts which its also somewhat harsh to fault him for.
Remco is a very interesting rider, and I look forward to seeing him in the years to come.

But he is also a loud mouth, Jonas won the last 2 years TDF against a once in a life time talent like Tadej, that is perhaps the most complete rider that we ever seen. Remco is most certainly not above him in any pecking orders, even though he seems to think so himself.

Not in GT above him in pecking order but his Palmares overall I believe you can argue that? Nvm I agree. Yes, he is a very interesting rider.
I can follow your reasoning in regard to his overall Palmares yes, even though I am a little unsure why that matters in this case.

Jonas is perhaps the best 3 week stage racer currently, and the TDF is a 3 week race, Remco pretending to know better, and speaking for Tadej is in my ears him being immature, and a loud mouth.

I like Remco, but he is very young sometimes.

When winning is shutting down moves and refusing to pull. ::snore::
Most team sports have both defense and offense, and champions tend to be able to do both. Road cycling has always been a sport with a lot of tactics and strategy.

What I don't enjoy is top riders making a move and then looking in absolute confusion when a rival does what they already should have expected him to do. That is silly, goofy stuff.

Just watched the raw interview with Remco.

Quite more nuanced than a confrontation of which the medias are trying to provoke (in order to sell tickets).
Here Remco states, apart from his obvious and understandable dissapointment that he fully understands Jonas' and Visma's race logics.

Sports that feature and reward defensive tactics should maybe do the rules and playing field a rethink.

So all in all the stage delivered, one of the best stages in a while. A miracle for all GC favourites to finish it unscarred. Vlasov taking a hit, that seems like the biggest potential loss going deeper into the race. Hopefully to not affect Vlasov all that much. Number of mechanicals and punctures rather low, although Jonas had to ride on Tratnik bike and Remco with only a minor bike issue. It's like the genius behind this stage needs to get some praise, as if it would turn out different, then the genius would for sure get all the blame.

Pogi and UAE really had this stage underlined, wanted to make a difference, all to no avail. Jonas and especially Visma really came prepared. In my opinion Pogi didn't succeed only due to Visma being the strongest team on this stage. Remco came prepared too, a couple of seconds before he attacked i was thinking to myself, here is on where Pogi would attack today, if Visma wouldn't be as strong as it was. Remco went ahead and did it anyway, all to no avail. Rogla, masterclass.

Visma and UAE won the battle for positions through and through the race, Bora only won one at first sector and already needed to blow up on the second. Visma really had Pogi under control, van Aert never rode like that for Rogla on such stage, no freedom whatsoever involved. The plan for Visma hence likely is to blow up UAE climbing section, yes, that section currently being nicely positioned in TOP 10 GC, before climbing even begins and before launching Jonas, deeper into the race. Hopefully for Rogla and Bora to top that!

Vlasov broken ankle and is withdrawn

How can you say something is a good offense if it cannot break a good defense?
If that’s what you think happened all pogi had to do yesterday is sit on Vingo’s wheel the whole day. Given the nature of the sport I think he should have. Instead, he chose to animate the race on multiple occasions. We shall see if he’s punished for that later among those who think Vingo was smart

Pogi should've absolutely sat on Vingo's wheel with the team he has. Now if they brought another rouleur or two instead of e.g. Ayuso, that would be a different story, then I would have either a satellite rider in the break or have the rouleurs drop Vinge's support before trying to crack him.

Fair point in strategy and in that I do not disagree. Conversly maybe Visma didn't need all of that gravel power, but time will tell here. I am commenting on the sport as a product that is entertaining to watch, and the way Pogi (and Remco) rode yesterday made it watchable vs wheelsucking. Sitting on wheels for 3 weeks to see who cracks is something I would think those in charge might like to find ways to bust it up.
