Well designed stage, I can't imagine GC guys going for it but who know, given how Jumbo has raced things so far. Personally, I'd ride if I was Jumbo, simply to attack with Matteo and try and bait Pog into following and tire him out for what might be the two most important stages in the race the following two stages.
Narvaez will be there

Big breakaway probably with the likes of Milan, Girmay, MVDP and Van Aert in it. I'm quite fancying Van Aert's chances here, since a decisive move might go before the final hill, eliminating some (better) climbers.

Never understood the dislike for the Paris stage. Of all the sprint stages, it was usually the most exciting. Once they arrived on the first lap, action for about 60 km was pretty much guaranteed, which is more than most flat stages can say for themselves. Maybe the sight of riders holding champagne glasses is deeply offensive to some viewers.

Break gets lots of time, Visma hit the front near the end and speed things up, No changes on GC and people still wonder why Red Bull/Bora are paying lots of money for guys to have a cycling holiday around France.
Big question is, how is Sivakov?

Do i sense a bit of envy? And you have to admit that in last couple of years the price of summer holidays went up substantially.

I suppose we should look kindly on the team as they provided 3 weeks R&R to elderly and impoverished sportsmen. Just hope they don't run into any of those anti-tourists demonstrators!:)

Having spent most of the rest day obtaining large quantities of discounted impact glue, Vinge will be attached to Pogi to a point where ASO will have to call in precision surgeons to get them separated once they cross the line.

Lets just see how many sprint teams decides to stay in the peloton looking at Lidl working for Milan...

Gregoire ftw.

Remco should show he actually has balls and attack tomorrow. Go all out. And don't flap and sing
Remco has shown on multiple stages and even admitted himself that he doesn't have the punch he used to have right now because he focussed his training on longer climbs (we'll soon useful that shift was).
Don't see how that would suddenly change today. Funny enough, if Pogacar and Vingegaard stare at each other he'd be the perfect guy to get a gap because he can definitely hold it to the finish. But I doubt it.

If mvdp gets in the break by himself he will get worked over, I wonder if he manages to be there with some teammates, probably not. Somehow I can see Alaphillipe magically finding his legs and winning this one. Wouldn't mind that or a WvA win.

If a strong break goes it's unlikely they can control it, unless Wanty are insane enough to chase.

Think it's a better bet to get in with multiple teammates for MvdP, and in this case the likes of Van Aert should also simply be in the break.

MVP in the break would be worse for him. Winning this type of stage from the break is more difficult because it's more unpredictable, riders can attack from far, after the last climb they can attack too. If Alpecin control the peloton in the beginning, they can choose which riders make the break and can control the race far more easily. MVP can win from the group's favorites.

I think Wanty are definitely insane enough to help chase. Depending on how big the break is, I can imagine EF (for a small part), Alpecing and Wanty control that break.

Would be more fun if Healy, MVDP and Girmay are part of the break though. But Girmay riding away like that is probably not something LIDL wants.

Wanty has lost one guy already and a couple more are pretty banged up. Even if they want to, I doubt they are able to make much of a difference.
