According to my googling skills the Tramontane wind is actually at the Mediterranean coast and not in Toulouse.Innerring blog gives it ...
and I've seen one forecast of gusts up to 30km/h, so we'll see who's correct!

I'm far from expert, but from what I know, tramontana does, indeed, occur in more continental parts.According to my googling skills the Tramontane wind is actually at the Mediterranean coast and not in Toulouse.
It is kind of impossible for any transmontane-named wind to blow into Toulouse from the Northwest due to a lack of mountains.I'm far from expert, but from what I know, tramontana does, indeed, occur in more continental parts.
Also, Toulouse is generally supposed to be a rather windy city, I believe.
That said, my weather forecast shows very calm day in terms of wind there..
On paper this also looks like a perfect stage for Nys. Don´t know, if his form improved..I wouldn't be surprised if Lidl try to control this. This will probably end up being too hard for Milan but given the paucity of sprint stages from here on in, it's worth having a go.
I suppose for them they also have Skujins and Simmons who would stand a chance in the break, though big Tour breakaways on hilly stages are incredibly tricky to predict/control and their chances depend massively on who else is there.
Soudal won't help, but Alpecin and Wanty could fancy the stage (and Wanty really need it for UCI points, too).
The profile in the opening post of this thread has it at just under 11 %, which I think is a good middle ground. How hard is the last hill?
The TDF site has it at 800 m at more than 12%.
PCS has it at 800 m at 9.3%.
Massive difference.
So which one is it?
Yes.Maybe the sight of riders holding champagne glasses is deeply offensive to some viewers.
Its much better than the alternative, and I highly doubt Gouvenou has had dreams of Alaf pulling off some magic in these stages. Its mainly just a response to the monotomy of flat stages, and he has achived that to be fair. I'd also argue its much more for the strongmen than pure puncheurs at least if the break will decide the race given it will be a hard stage to hit the break and their are various places to put in an attack from afarExcessive number of punchy finales this year because Gouvenou hasn't realized Alaphilippe is completely à côté de la plaque aka not at the races.
Skjelmose said that everyone from Trek but him and Theuns will attack, so that normally should include Milan.no other team should really fancy their chances enough to pull the whole day. I mean, Milan, really?
"How to beat UAE? Simple, you start with Memphis Depay"The Dutch Southgate aka Ronald Koeman has been there to give Visma a pep-talk, fresh off their thrashing of the mighty Malta.
Agree - awful route this year.I don't like that all the sprint stages are crammed together at the start and all the mountain stages at the end. What happened to making a sensible route?
Milan's plan in small groups has tradionally just been to hold on for dear life to Filippo Ganna.Milan riding like a fish out of water. No breakaway skills.
