Hail to you man. I don't know if you are being sarcastic but I will believe you are not and say, this is why I like you, you are honest.
I'm not being sarcastic...looking at it a couple more times, Pog was on the radio, but he did come from behind Pog and then over. If he'd been in front the entire time, then Pog's fault, but that isn't what happened. The overhead is more clear, though all in all, I think it was a racing incident, and it sounds like Pog isn't in the blame game, which is one of the reasons I like him.

I know what I saw, Pogacar losing concentration as the bunch he was in shifted quickly from left to right . It was just one of those things. It happens. If it has any deeper meaning it might indicate a certain mental tiredness on Pogacar’s part. Simply the brain disengaging just a little bit as the race came to the finish line. Still, he came down with a fair old clunk on his left hip which Visma will no doubt study this evening with a view to testing how sore it might be tomorrow.

Yep. Not much more to say. Pogacar's fans are on a whole different level of toxicity than anything I've seen before in cycling.
One of the most prominent exponents of this toxicity is an anonymous Twitter account spouting utter aggressive nonsense about rivaling riders and teams. Still that anonymous douchebag is getting his own thread on this forum with already hundreds of messages discussing its prophecies. If we're talking about looking in the mirror regarding online toxicity, this forum also has it's fair share to do.

Call me a boomer or whatever but I think there's really a Streisand like effect that happens with people getting threats through instagram or whatever and instead of getting everyone riled up by it it's just better to roll our eyes and ignore it.

Nice new avatar, Rick.

I feel like you're nonchalantly scrolling back down the bunch of posters here, checking to see if everyone is fine before launching it and posting some more at 60% of your typing count.

I gotta call out the absolutely class, hockey-style body check against the barriers for the idiot at the finish.

I just love the extra oomph the security guy put into it. Super leg drive, great forearm technique. Way to finish.

Respect.
I can confirm that I wasn't that fan at the end of the stage there. I've played rugby for 20 years and I would have side-stepped the official and contested the sprint. I might not have won but it would have been close.

Yeah, just no. This feels like a personal opinion from you on the topic about "Pogacar fans" and its just not right to claim that or generalize in that way.

Although I still believe Pogacar was also at fault, I do completely agree with you here.

Yet I also agree with this. Social media is the curse of modern life is what I take away from this I guess.

There is almost news stories about this phenomenon every day in my news feed. It's not so interesting really. If it was a truly big problem, these celebrities or sports persons could quit the social media and leave it to somebody else to update their various profiles and check the inbox. Besides, I don't identify with the people who write these things. Most of them are either sick gamblers or extreme fans. So it's not a problem that the common person should feel guilty about.

Poor Johannessen, afraid because some crazy fans keep spamming him and therefore gives an apology.
It looked to me like THJ went straight to Pogacar after crossing the finish line and with a clap on the shoulder gave Pogacar an apology I seriously doubt that he had checked his inbox before that episode but I may be wrong, wouldnt be the first time for that either.

Also important to point out that the jury did not feel he did anything to deserve a punishment. Given that on the one hand it’s impossible for them to have missed the incident and on the other hand the tendency to hand out a lot of sanctions that has emerged lately, that should really be more than enough to absolve Johannessen of any real blame.

Not that he would have deserved this s**tstorm even if he was to blame, of course.

Someone with your skill set remains a threat! I've contacted the race officials, and they've confirmed they're upgrading the security detail at the race finish with this guy.
