Yeah for 23', but if Pogi has one of his days he could do it in 22' and then move the limit to 29:20, which would kick out 50 riders.

I don't think it's likely, but I think it was why they extended the limit.
You don't think any of the riders between 29:00 and 30:30 would have been faster had they been racing with the knowledge that the time limit was 33%? If I'm a non-climber and I see this time limit, I am not bothering with any faster pacing plan than 30 minutes even if I could feasibly manage below 29.

Geraint Thomas with the reverse mullet wheelset, really deep front wheel for the aero gains and shallow rear wheel for the weight (and because aerodynamics matter a lot more on the front wheel).
Oddly enough I had this thought way back when I started racing when you would have been laughed at for trying it. These days the deeper wheels are not too much heavier than the shallow wheels so it doesn't make as much sense to me. Specialized is even selling reverse mullet wheels but how much weight can 1cm save? 20g?
