Was the original time limit 33%?And rightly so. There is no point in having a time limit if nobody misses one all race, as is the norm in GTs these days.

Yes.Was the original time limit 33%?
I read that Quinn's parents stressed their kids be outdoor activity kids when they were growing up, so here we are some years later...They are a cycling family. I saw Dad and Colby (from EF) and presumably mom at the cafe the other week, all out for a gravel ride.
I honestly think they're scared of a thermonuclear performance that puts Pog under 22 minutes and eliminates like 40 riders, many of whom put in perfectly reasonable rides.Yes.
If it was 33%, they would need to ride under 30'36"Was the original time limit 33%?
No, with the TTT bikeRemco with the ITT bike?
If Red Bull are using TT bikes, that confirms to me that road bikes are the better option.Rock'n Rolf Aldag suggesting that Lipowitz and Roglic will ride on a TT bike because they managed to get their tt set-up really close weight wise. Both are also warming up on the TT bike atm.
Plus some good genes, I guess. For example, no matter how hard my folks could have pushed me, I was never going to be world tour material.I read that Quinn's parents stressed their kids be outdoor activity kids when they were growing up, so here we are some years later...
Yeah for 23', but if Pogi has one of his days he could do it in 22' and then move the limit to 29:20, which would kick out 50 riders. If it was 33%, they would need to ride under 30'36"
You don't think any of the riders between 29:00 and 30:30 would have been faster had they been racing with the knowledge that the time limit was 33%? If I'm a non-climber and I see this time limit, I am not bothering with any faster pacing plan than 30 minutes even if I could feasibly manage below 29.Yeah for 23', but if Pogi has one of his days he could do it in 22' and then move the limit to 29:20, which would kick out 50 riders.
I don't think it's likely, but I think it was why they extended the limit.
Should be the same (or at least similar) then for Remco as they're all riding Specialized.Rock'n Rolf Aldag suggesting that Lipowitz and Roglic will ride on a TT bike because they managed to get their tt set-up really close weight wise. Both are also warming up on the TT bike atm.
Oddly enough I had this thought way back when I started racing when you would have been laughed at for trying it. These days the deeper wheels are not too much heavier than the shallow wheels so it doesn't make as much sense to me. Specialized is even selling reverse mullet wheels but how much weight can 1cm save? 20g?Geraint Thomas with the reverse mullet wheelset, really deep front wheel for the aero gains and shallow rear wheel for the weight (and because aerodynamics matter a lot more on the front wheel).
