Approximately 24 minutes for the winner is still incredibly short for a mid-race TT. That's only a quarter above the 2009 opening TT, and even less than that above the 2005 one.The number of minutes is more important than the number of kms

I hear you, if it were for me, all TTs would be between 60 and 90 minutes long - aside from actual Prologues x)Approximately 24 minutes for the winner is still incredibly short for a mid-race TT.
You can make it work, but not with a start in Loudenvielle. Obviously it's immaterial with the GC the way it is, but imagine if they had looked at the 1989 Orcières-Merlette MTT (which also climbed Manse) for inspiration, started in Saint-Lary-Soulan and climbed the hard side of Col d'Azet first.Yeah, this climb is really too easy for a MTT but thanks to it maybe Teddy won't crush the competition and the gap will be moderate (read: under a minute). Mt Ventoux time trial would be epic.
I meant 9km at (slightly above) 8%, apologies, and it was just under 2km of flat. Still, very similar. Are you sure your numbers are correct? As per PCS we have 602 metres of net elevation gain tomorrow compared to 777 metres tomorrow.
Yes, it's a false flat, sprinter-friendly ITT. Check official profile.
Day two of crash for Pog, taking more edge off - Another rubbish sleep, they add up. Jonas is at his worst climbing level in years and after a shocking flat TT I don't think this stage will go well for him.
Pog still to win, but not crazy, and who will get second will be interesting.
