Yeah, this climb is really too easy for a MTT but thanks to it maybe Teddy won't crush the competition and the gap will be moderate (read: under a minute). Mt Ventoux time trial would be epic.
You can make it work, but not with a start in Loudenvielle. Obviously it's immaterial with the GC the way it is, but imagine if they had looked at the 1989 Orcières-Merlette MTT (which also climbed Manse) for inspiration, started in Saint-Lary-Soulan and climbed the hard side of Col d'Azet first.

Meh, meh,meh...why not this stage?

There's nowhere to hide, no wheel to take...me, I like it. I call it "the thermometer", and the top-20 will be reshaped. Dreams of greatness coming down in flames. I like it...

It's a big deal, power outputs will blow our minds, be studied in other sections of our forum. Gaps won't be huge, but they will exist, nowhere to hide. I like it...

In the end, it's a chrono, I will sheer for Remco, I'll never bet against Remco in a chrono. Two walls, the rest can be managed, he will put out an insane rhythm. Allez Remco! I like it too...

Day two of crash for Pog, taking more edge off - Another rubbish sleep, they add up. Jonas is at his worst climbing level in years and after a shocking flat TT I don't think this stage will go well for him.

Pog still to win, but not crazy, and who will get second will be interesting.

If Tonton likes it, that's good enough for me!
Obviously should be longer and after yesterday an anti-climax. Vingegaard to lose more time, Lipowitz will close in on Remco and the rest will do their best, I'm sure, but ...Our only hope is that a "Foliforov" wins and we can all have a good chuckle.

I think two factors might have reduced the impact of that crash: Pog sticking his left foot out to soften the fall and mainly landing on the painted strip on the road. That reduced the burn on his skin.

Then TT up the huge Col de Portet: hardest Pyrenean climb in Tour history. It's nearby (and the finish was there already so it's feasible). Start in Saint Lary Soulan or one can even start in Loudenvielle (24 km false flat + 16 km climb) - a mighty TT! I wouldn't mind if the 3rd Pyrenean stage was removed from the route then.
