If he had attacked first, he would have been the one to benefit from the moto.Quinn Simmons not happy with the moto and Wellens
I can understand but
I know he is the most combinative but no win yet

Sounds pretty painful and not everyone is as skilled at popping his own shoulder back in like Rogla. So, chapeau Ala!They said he has dislocated it and further evaluation will be done after the stage. So chapeau to him.
He looked very frustrated in that interview. If he had attacked first, he would have been the one to benefit from the moto.
Never mind the Belgium RR. When a (strong) rider gets 15-20 seconds on a group 2 he wins much more often than not.Such a predictable outcome for those who watched Belgium RR.
When he attacked on stage 10 with 26 km to go, the moto was just as close to him as it was to Wellens. He looked very frustrated in that interview.
But understandably so - he must have made 30 energy wasting attacks in the race so far and hasn’t had the moto help him once. Whereas Wellens made one decisive attack after saving energy all day and the moto made literally all the difference!
I don't think there was any doubting that!I would argue that a well balanced points competition should have several types of rider type contesting green, and that, much like how pure climbers of yesteryear could feel like they could contest GC but could only win if they were truly elite, special climbers like van Impe, Fuente or Bahamontés, the green jersey competition should be one to reward the durable and the varied riders such that the pure sprinters should feel like they can contest it (if not, they get enough reward in stage wins anyway) but only the truly elite pure sprinters can win it (think like McEwen and Cavendish in earlier years) whereas riders with more strings to their bow like Boonen and Hushovd will be better candidates.
I mean, hell, I've said at least a couple of times that the type of rider that Peter Sagan is is, in fact, the absolute perfect type of rider for who should be contesting and winning the maillot vert, my problem with him winning it was purely personal.
Excellent call!!These 3 could get to the front. All this to get smoked by a 40k Wellens solo.

He is the only Visma rider who has performed as well (or even better) than expected in this Tour. Everyone else (including Vingegaard. at least for one stage) doesn't seem to be at their peak performance levelGuy has been burying himself day after day, real worker, surprised he has energy for this effort. He has rode an impressive TDF so far..
Bonus, for some reason he likes the solid smooth helmet, no matter how hot outside.. Easy to pick out in the crowd!!

There is something (for me) about crossing the line in that jersey that adds luster to the image, even if it is for UAE. Over the past almost two decades that I've been following cycling more closely (all season long) there were so many wins by superb riders (Boonen, Gilbert, Van Aert) wearing that jersey that bestows a certain legacy to it.Here's a list of beautiful things about Wellens:
1. Belgian Champion jersey
2.race tactics
3. Legs
4. Bicycle
5. Isaac Del Toro likes him
6. Proven winner
7 .Hardman !!
.......
49..dreamy blue eyes.
50. Likes romantic walks on the beach
51. Beat Vodka
Guy is an absolute monster!! Congratulations on another race well done!!
So you mean different than winning in Charleston West Virginia because it's too big a hassle to travel and show up if you are European based? The irony is not lost that multiple national championships were up the road..Ivan Romeo raced excellent today also..There is something (for me) about crossing the line in that jersey that adds luster to the image, even if it is for UAE.
