Given what we have seen this tour, where does everyone think Almeida would be if he had not crashed? Would he have stayed within 10 minutes of Pog for the podium? Of course hard to predict where his yoyo style lands him over 3 weeks, but there's a huge gap between Ving and Lipo for him to have slotted into.

I do think he would have made the race a little more boring by virtue of neutralizing a lot of Visma's attempts at upsetting the apple cart.

Have you been watching the past three weeks... no balls can overcome the fact Vingegaard has been physically unable to drop Pogacar.

It's very strange to me that Pogacar fans treat Pogacar (rightly) as a generational superstar, levels above the competition, and then criticise the opposition when they act in recognition of that fact.

It’s the evolving of audiences across all sport really( I see it in other sports), where people need gratification for their time, so they wish for that gratification by people potentially screwing up their chances to win.

Good climbers have made big efforts to take the wins (maybe not today) but in both cases they were simply let go by the best riders who didn't try to chase

It's impossible to answer, because we don't know how UAE would have used him in the mountains.
